Practice Description: |
We lead lives that are often difficult in ways no one ever prepared us for. Indeed, there is probably no way to prepare for a life that comes with as much frustration as it does joy, as much disappointment as excitement, and as much loss as it does love. How do we deal with the pain that invariably attends so much of our experience? For most of us, the truth is, we don't know. So, we make due with distractions, ambitions, obsessions, and addictions, but the answer no one likes to hear is that the only way is never around painful experiences, but through them. Friendship is a means by which one can endure hardship and discover fruitful ways through pain. But, what if you have experiences that you struggle to articulate? What if you can't bring yourself to confide in your friends or feel that you have no one to confide in? Or, what if the problems you struggle with are unclear and confusing to you and your friends? It is often in these cases that therapy becomes a godsend.
However, it's not easy to find a good therapist, someone you can count on to listen with care and who knows what they are talking about. Nonetheless, I strive to be such a person to my patients, someone who does his job well yet is personable enough to be an easy confidant. If you have questions about my approach, it is probably best to contact me and we can discuss your needs from there.
