Practice Description: **NEWS** Hummingbird - Compassionate Support Group for Women - Starting this October 2024!

The Hummingbird grief, loss, and life transition support groups for women serve as a compassionate environment where individuals can share their experiences of loss or significant life transitions and find solace in the presence of others who understand their pain. Our groups provide a safe space for expressing emotions, offering mutual support, and learning coping strategies to navigate the process of grieving and transitioning. Facilitated by a licensed psychotherapist and a trauma specialist, Dr. Denisa Millette, these gatherings help participants feel less isolated, validate their feelings, and promote healing through connection and shared experiences. Whether in person or online, our groups accommodate various forms of loss, ensuring that every woman finds a supportive community to aid in Saturday her journey towards recovery.

Format:
In-person
This group is ongoing and meets bi-weekly every other Saturday for 90 minutes at our Northlake location in the Atlanta, Georgia area. The group is limited to 15 participants to create a safe space and ensure the opportunity to participate for everyone.

Virtual
This group meets virtually every other Tuesday evening on Zoom for 90 minutes and is open to women anywhere. The group is limited to 20 participants to create a safe space and ensure the opportunity to fully participate for everyone.

Both virtual and in-person groups follow a similar structured session format to provide a safe and supportive environment for participants. The sessions begin with a welcome and announcements, outlining the group's purpose, ground rules, and structure. This is followed by brief introductions of new members allowing each member to share their name and their reason for attending. The main part of the session usually involves a call for a conversation on topics related to grief, loss, and challenging life transitions and open discussion for members to share their experiences and feelings.

The session structure aims to foster a sense of community and shared understanding among the women, helping them navigate their journey through grief. The group is limited to 10 participants only to create a safe space and ensure the opportunity to fully participate for everyone.

To be admitted into the group, each potential participant must complete an application form and submit a registration fee of $35. Session fee: $55/session.
