Practice Description: |
I am a professional, active and engaged clinician. As a psychotherapist, I pride my practice on providing quality, personalized care in a safe solution-based therapeutic environment. I have experience of over 20 years working with adults, couples, families, and hold a Doctorate degree in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Social Work from USC. My clients and colleagues have described their experience with me as being warm, caring, straight forward and conscientious. Through the therapeutic relationship, I assist clients to understand how their relationships affect them; focus and resolve problems, assist in removing blocks to their personal growth and discover their inner resources. Successful therapy involves ongoing dialog and authentic relationships, and that you feel good about your therapist and view him/her as trustworthy, caring, healthy, competent, and a moral person. Successful therapy is also characterized by clients making positive changes in their thinking and behavior as a result of therapy.
The therapeutic environment I strive to provide is nurturing, goal-oriented and solution focused. My approach is cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) in many instances, providing options, educating, empowering clients to learn how to problem solve and make changes in their lives. I provide coping tools to the client towards resolving their problem. Other theoretical approaches are utilized when deemed more appropriate in response to unique client needs/situations. Therefore, I tailor my treatment plans accordingly.
