Practice Description: |
Do you feel overwhelmed by anxious, sad or depressed feelings and thoughts that recur from time to time? Are you repeating self-defeating behavior patterns or emotional patterns that lead to unhappiness in relationships, work or other areas of your life, but you don't know how to change? Do you want to be less self-conscious and more self-confident? If you are struggling with these issues, I would like to help you. Asking for help is courageous, and reading this site suggests that you have already taken the initial step towards change. Together we will explore and better understand your painful past and present feelings and experiences. Clarity, self-understanding, self-appreciation, and strength will be nurtured. New skills to improve coping and more successful outcomes will be taught. You CAN be happier, feel more "whole" and be more effective in your life.
My Specialties Include: Resolving childhood issues; Relationship improvement (learning communication skills, resolving conflicts, and increasing/repairing love and intimacy); Understanding and decreasing feelings of depression, sadness and anxiety that often recur; Improving self -esteem and self-confidence; and providing training in Mindfulness Meditation, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, and Mindful Self-Compassion Training. My therapeutic style is friendly, supportive, engaging and non-judgemental. Clients tell me I listen empathically, am easy to talk to, and really understand complex issues, concerns and feelings. My training and therapeutic approach is an integration of Psychodynamic, Humanistic, Cognitive, and Contemplative Buddhist Psychology. I believe that successful psychotherapy is based on developing a collaborative, respectful, and trusting relationship between therapist and client. I value the uniqueness of each individual, and have worked with a diverse range of presenting concerns for 30 years. I always tailor therapy to meet the specific needs of the individual's that I work with. I skillfully provide both short-term and longer-term treatment.
I have had the privilege over many years, of successfully helping clients at challenging times in their lives. I will sensitively help you get to the heart of your struggles and problems so you can finally heal your pain, and feel better. I care and want you to be a happier person. Don't wait any longer.
