Practice Description: |
Currently, I am unable to accept new patients. Anxiety and depression can become overwhelming. Often, this is because people attribute their problems solely to themselves, worsening already negative feelings through self-recrimination. Yet, the entire environment in which a person lives may need exploring to understand how our behaviors, when combined with the behaviors of others, may be contributing to problems. From that larger understanding, solutions often become self-evident.
In my practice, I try to help clients find the source of their problems; those that originate from within, and how they relate to current stressors and relationships. This allows people to release themselves and others from the cycle of blame and recognize themselves as an important part of a dynamic system. Self-awareness, coupled with the awareness of the world around us, empowers us to make constructive choices, allowing our emotional reactions to align naturally.
I work with adults who are experiencing anxiety or depression, especially when they are adjusting to loss, major changes in their lives, or if they are having a difficult time with their partner, family, work or social situations. During the first interview, I try to help people sort through any confusion and gain a sense of direction. My clients usually need therapy on a weekly basis only for the short term and can quickly begin extending time between sessions or simply return as needed.
