Practice Description: |
Congratulations for taking a step in the right direction. I have over 40 years of experience helping people with recovery, relationships, loss, life transitions, and finding more peace with oneself and others. In addition to a general psychotherapy practice I specialize in addictions, including alcohol and other drugs, tobacco, behavioral addictions, family members, and supporting 12-step recovery.
Therapy provides a confidential, safe space to share your experiences, explore options, heal, feel better about your life and live in alignment with your values. A primary goal is to help you feel more peaceful and empowered in your life. My approach is supportive and strengths-focused, working in partnership with you to help you achieve your goals. We will balance exploring your concerns/problems with building upon your strengths, using a variety of approaches based on individual need - talking together, journaling, drawing, relaxation exercises and other activities. While I occasionally offer suggestions, I prefer to help you find your own solutions.
I commend people who seek help to improve their lives. Therapy is an investment in yourself and your future, a life-changing adventure that thrives on honesty and courage as you strive toward self-discovery, vitality and wholeness.
Feel free to call my office if you have any questions. Gail Compton
