Practice Description: |
Are you looking for a therapist who can truly see you for who you are, and help you to truly see and appreciate yourself? Are you looking for a therapy experience that strengthens you, and results in your feeling equipped to meet and succeed at the challenges in your life? Are you looking to enjoy life again, or perhaps for the first time? To feel truly alive?
Katya Slivinskaya believes healing and growth begins with seeing and appreciating ourselves. In a world that often gives us the message that we all need to be the same and have the same dreams and goals, we can lose ourselves very easily – and life isn’t fulfilling when we aren’t in touch with ourselves. Katya sees life as a marvelous adventure – and every challenge as an opportunity to experience the thrill and gratification of this adventure at a higher level.
If working with her feels like a fit for you, she is excited to teach you how to meet your life challenges and succeed at them, heal old wounds and turn them into assets, all while being your authentic self.
Katya Slivinskaya received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in both writing/poetics and contemplative psychology from Naropa University. After that, she became certified as a Heath Coach from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and practiced one-on-one coaching for more than 10 years. As a holistic health coach, Katya’s work with clients addressed all areas of health including spirituality, career, nutrition, and social health. She also underwent rigorous training to become a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher (CIYT), and, concurrently with coaching, spent several years teaching yoga for individuals and groups.
Katya holds a Master of Social Work Degree from the University of Denver, with a concentration in Mental Health and Trauma. Before joining Foundations, she worked for 2 years as a therapist and program manager, administering individual and group therapy while curating and managing a program of holistic therapy for individuals on probation and parole. Katya utilizes techniques from Transpersonal Therapy, Somatic Counseling, Mindfulness-Based Counseling, Attachment-Based Counseling, and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
Katya has extensive experience with a diversity of cultures and languages, having lived in several countries and international settings. She is especially interested in the unique insights and wisdom held by each culture – both Indigenous and modern – about how to heal physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually – and aims to integrate these perspectives in her work with clients.
