Practice Description: |
The journey through life as a human being is a beautiful and deeply complex road to navigate at times. There are many twists and turns, and each individual can only draw on their personal experiences to make sense of the more difficult and painful parts of their journey. Laura Olaniyi believes that each person is unique and more than capable of making adjustments to be the best version of themselves. Laura is passionate about helping people discover who they truly want to be and strives to provide a supportive, loving, and safe environment to develop the necessary tools to allow for longstanding, meaningful change. When you elect to have Laura walk alongside you on this path, you are electing to embrace healing with someone immensely qualified who can provide you with the resources necessary to truly grow as a person.
Laura Olaniyi has a Master of Social Work Degree from New Mexico Highlands University, and a Bachelor of Social Work Degree from Lubbock Christian University. She has extensive experience working with children and families, and has worked with a variety of families who have experienced trauma and abuse. Laura utilizes Client Centered Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing.
Laura has been involved in international work to help support the overall well-being of children and adolescents for the last 15 years. These experiences led to her interest in the mental health field, and in 2012 began her advanced degree in social work. In addition, she has experience working with family and community systems to establish effective and lasting change within the community.
