Practice Description: |
We can all experience more joy, fulfillment, and peace in our lives. We sometimes just get a little stuck.
Are you feeling unsettled? Have you experienced a loss or a recent life transition? Are you experiencing depression, anxiety, or emotional pain? Are you struggling with an addictive behavior?
Do you wish that you could just get to the heart of the matter? I help Individual, couples, and families do just that.
I provide Individual, Couple and Family Therapy that can enhance communication and intimacy and help you to reach your goals and maintain them on your own. I provide parenting support at any stage of your child's development. No matter what your family is experiencing, there is a way forward.
Discussing money, career, and children, Premarital and Marital Therapy is available for couples.
Therapy can be truly exciting and fun. Sometimes individuals seek out a therapist to explore themselves, their careers, or to work on a specific issue in one or two sessions. With skilled attention and guidance I will assist you in strengthening your relationship with yourself and with others. My approach to counseling is collaborative and solution-focused. My previous career in Vipassana and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and Pain Relief Therapy assists individuals and their loved ones with issues related to chronic pain, mental illness, addictions, and issues of related to death and dying. In addition, my extensive background in Medicinal Food and Cooking, Therapeutic Yoga (Kripalu trained), and Massage Therapy bring a seasoned understanding of the mind/body connection into the therapeutic process.
My personal journey includes years of meditation practice and study in professional institutions and with various teachers, including Ram Dass, Stephen Levine, Insight training, and two years study in Spiritual Psychology at the University of Santa Monica. My academic training in Clinical and Counseling Psychology and Marriage and Family Therapy, includes a minor in Religious Studies and Art History.

Additional Comments: |
The life of the body is feeling: feeling alive, vibrant, good, excited, angry, sad, joyous and finally contented. It is the lack of feeling, or confusion about feelings, that brings people to therapy.
