We all face different sizes and types of hurdles throughout our life. It is important to navigate through such times with someone who provides compassion, support, and is non-judgmental. Monique Martinez believes that every individual is unique, and this should be recognized. Every person has the ability to fulfill their potential and maximize their well-being. Monique provides a safe and supportive environment to allow growth through understanding the fundamental elements of a client’s experience.
Monique will meet you where you are on your path toward healing and growth at any given moment. She is passionate about joining clients in their journey towards growth and success. She encourages her clients to focus on their strengths while providing tools and skills to continue to guide them towards growth, advancement, and healing. Monique enjoys authentic and meaningful conversations with each one of her clients.
At Foundations Counseling, Monique Martinez works with an array of clients who face a variety of challenges, including:
• Children and Teens – anxiety, multigenerational families, autism spectrum, ADD/ADHD, developmental disabilities, creative therapies including art and play therapy, communication issues, life coaching and goal setting
• Life Transitions – life stages, career counseling, disability issues, geographical transition, job transition, establishing self, natural and/or sudden death of loved one or pet, restoring meaning to life, retirement, grief and loss
• Individual Counseling – anger management, anxiety, depression, empowerment, PTSD, stress, life coaching, issues of race and multiculturalism, social anxiety, assertiveness, self-worth issues, sex and porn addiction recovery, abandonment issues, codependency, trauma
Monique Martinez is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. She has a Master of Arts Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from California State University Dominguez Hills. Monique utilizes techniques from Humanistic Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, and Client-Centered Therapy.
Monique Martinez has experience in working to support and help individuals since 2013 when she began mentoring at risk youth and providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to children as young as 2 years old. Through her passion for helping individuals who had a lot to gain from support and being taught skills to better themselves, she sought out an advanced degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. Monique has extensive experience in working with children, youth, and adults with a wide variety of disabilities. She has worked with families in crisis, engaged in reunification therapy, and has provided general parenting counseling.
