Practice Description: While I have been a practicing clinical psychologist for 20 years, I am also a Jungian Analyst, with a particular passion for Analytical or "Depth" Psychology. I find this orientation to be deeply respectful of the complexity and mystery in each of us. I have a Diploma in Analytical Psychology from the Inter-regional Society of Jungian Analysts. My approach is integrated, however, drawing from a number of orientations including Jungian, psychodynamic, cognitive-behavior, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, family systems. I believe each of us has a very complex story. We are far from "mechanisms" to be labelled or fixed, but carry a depth that can best be understood through compassionate curiosity both in myself as therapist and in each client. In addition to talk therapy, I will at times utilize dream analysis, active imagination and sandplay if my client finds this helpful.

Additional Comments: In this practice I am specifically offering "depth work", designed for individuals who are interested in deepening their life experience and self understanding. As a Jungian Analyst, I see it as my goal is to provide a safe, non-judgmental place for us to explore what may feel missing in life: to create room to make conscious what is unconscious. I have a deep respect for the complexity and mystery of each individual and find that often what creates psychological pain is when one has a too narrow sense of how one is "supposed to be". I have intentionally chosen to not be a medical insurance provider in this specific practice to insure optimal privacy. One can feel safe here to share deeply without fear of being judged or labelled, and without our work dictated by insurance policies. I believe that client/therapist "match" is essential to building a trusting relationship. The first consultation is free so that we have a chance to meet each other. I am happy to answer any questions you might have at that time, or by phone if you prefer. If you are not from Northfield, I urge you to consider coming to this "destination" river town. My office is nestled in our beautiful and quaint downtown.
