Practice Description: |
Welcome!
Looking for a therapist can be a daunting process, and at the same time, it can be an exciting opportunity for change. I believe therapy is a unique context in which to cultivate kindness and compassion toward yourself as a key part of this change process. As a psychotherapist with over fifteen years experience working with people of many different backgrounds with a full range of concerns and needs, I can help you shift long-held habits and patterns. You may be seeking therapy because of struggling with moods, worries, relationships or even questions about life's meaning or trying to understand your future--or your past. I am deeply committed to offering a non-judging, accepting and safe context, which in and of itself can be healing and can allow for exploration of new possibilities. In my work, I draw from experience with mindfulness meditation, cognitive behavioral modalities as well as psychodynamic and relational models. I also bring a background in philosophy to my work, and have an eye to the ways we tell the stories of our lives, and shape and reshape them. I believe therapy can be used both on a short-term basis to address pressing issues and as a longer-term experience to deepen self-awareness.
I feel privileged to welcome new clients to my practice and to have the opportunity to be of service.
