My approach values a bottom-up perspective, specifically working toward discovering the roots of problems. I work to empower individuals to learn about how their life experiences impact the ways their brain, body, and nervous system may be impacting their present lives. I believe with this understanding, there is power and compassion that can come from healing the root causes for our current mental health symptoms, unhelpful behaviors, and core beliefs about ourselves.
I specialize in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. I have personally witnessed this treatment be helpful in treating, phobias, anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, low self-worth, relationship challenges, postpartum depression and anxiety, perfectionism, PTSD, attachment disruptions, codependence, addiction, and more. While this is the therapy that I have seen the most drastic and fastest changes in individuals, I also empower individuals to drive their own therapy and make informed decisions about what treatment would best meet their needs.
Prior to transitioning into a mental health therapist, my career experience has been within settings of hospice care, child protection services, and domestic violence shelters.
