Practice Description: |
Raising children often comes with unexpected challenges. In her practice, Anne (Roche) Gilmartin utilizes a Family Systems Approach in combination with techniques from Applied Behavior Analysis in order to improve family functioning. She assists children with regulating their emotions, modifying behaviors, and improving communication skills. Typically, this also involves providing parents with the tools they need to meet their child’s unique needs. Anne’s goal is to offer a safe and nonjudgmental space where all family members can reach their fullest potential.
Anne (Roche) Gilmartin is a National Certified Counselor. She has a Master of Science Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. Anne is a member of her profession’s National Honor Society: Chi Sigma Iota. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology as well as a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance from the University of Colorado Boulder.
Prior to her position at Foundations, Anne held research assistant positions at the University of Colorado’s Cognitive Development Center and Stanford University’s Social Learning Lab. Anne gained experience working with a variety of children with intellectual and developmental differences though her roles as a Registered Behavior Technician and as a graduate level intern at Kennedy Krieger Institute’s Neurobehavioral Unit Outpatient Clinic. She also served with AmeriCorps as an elementary literacy tutor and worked as a pre-kindergarten aide and afterschool teacher at a school for gifted children. Working in a variety of settings with individuals of varying abilities has provided Anne with the skills necessary to engage in developmentally appropriate practice.
