Couples Therapy

Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, isolated, and unsure of how to move forward. Whether it's dealing with relationship struggles, overwhelming anxiety, persistent depression, anger management issues, or the challenges of navigating difficult life transitions, the pain often feels unbearable. The weight of these emotional struggles can leave you feeling stuck, disconnected, and powerless to change. If you've been experiencing these types of struggles, it’s easy to feel like you’re facing an uphill battle with no clear way out.

I understand how frustrating and isolating it can feel when you're caught in cycles of negative thinking and unresolved emotions. However, therapy provides a safe, non-judgmental space where we can work together to untangle those emotional knots. By focusing on practical, evidence-based solutions, I help you understand the root causes of your challenges and develop strategies for change. Whether it’s addressing communication issues in your relationships, learning how to manage stress or anxiety, or improving your emotional well-being, we’ll take concrete steps toward healing.

You don’t have to go through this alone. I’m here to guide you through these difficulties, providing support and tools that empower you to regain control over your emotions and create positive change. Together, we’ll work on finding balance, restoring confidence, and building the foundation for a happier, healthier future.
I want to help and I am available with openings. All sessions are via phone or videochat (Vsee messenger in the App Store and Google Play). This will help keep us all healthy! I am conducting sessions from my home office.

Practice Description: If you’re feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, struggling in your relationships, or facing emotional challenges that seem impossible to overcome, you’re not alone. Many people experience difficult times in their lives, whether it’s battling persistent worries, managing stress, dealing with intimacy issues, or trying to make sense of a relationship that’s not working. It can feel isolating, and sometimes it may seem like there’s no way out of the pain. However, I want you to know that there is hope and help available. Together, we can work through these challenges in a way that empowers you to regain control, improve your emotional health, and create the life you desire. Therapy can provide the tools and support you need to break free from the cycle of frustration and disappointment.

My approach to therapy is rooted in the belief that every individual has the potential to create meaningful, lasting change in their lives. I view therapy as a collaborative process where clients are active participants, not passive recipients of treatment. Together, we explore your unique concerns, identify your goals, and create a personalized plan to help you move forward. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, anger management, or sexual health issues, my role is to guide and support you as you work toward self-discovery, healing, and growth.

I specialize in a wide range of issues, with a particular focus on relationship dynamics, communication difficulties, sexual health concerns, and personal development. As an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, I have extensive experience working with individuals and couples facing sexual difficulties, including intimacy challenges, sexual compulsivity (sex addiction), sexual orientation, and alternative lifestyles such as kink and polyamory. I understand that these issues can be deeply personal and sensitive, and I am committed to providing a safe, nonjudgmental space for exploration and growth. Whether you're navigating issues within a long-term relationship, experiencing difficulties with sexual intimacy, or exploring your sexual identity, I am here to help.

Additionally, my experience spans working with clients dealing with anxiety, depression, stress management, and anger. As someone who has personally struggled with anxiety, I bring a unique perspective to my work. I understand how overwhelming it can feel to navigate life with constant worry, and I draw from my own experiences to provide clients with practical tools to manage anxiety and create lasting change. My goal is to help you build self-awareness, resilience, and emotional regulation skills that will not only help you manage anxiety but also improve your overall mental and emotional well-being.

One of the core principles of my therapy practice is a solution-focused approach. I believe that therapy doesn't have to be a long, drawn-out process to be effective. While we may explore past experiences to gain insight into present behaviors, my primary focus is on helping you create solutions that can be applied in your day-to-day life. I believe in providing practical strategies and tools that clients can use to address their challenges in real-time, whether it's improving communication in a relationship, managing emotional responses, or developing healthier coping mechanisms for stress and anxiety.

In addition to my work with individuals and couples, I also specialize in helping traveling professionals, such as pilots, business professionals, and truckers, who face unique challenges related to their work schedules and lifestyle. Teletherapy is a convenient and effective option for these clients, as it allows them to receive therapy from anywhere, regardless of location. I understand the importance of flexibility and consistency, especially for those with demanding travel schedules, and I am committed to providing support in a way that fits seamlessly into their lives.

Over the course of my 20 years of clinical experience, I have developed a deep understanding of the complexities of human behavior and the importance of creating a therapeutic relationship built on trust and respect. I use a variety of evidence-based therapeutic methods to help clients achieve their goals. Some of the techniques I draw from include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, the Gottman Method for couples, and Transactional Analysis. I believe in integrating these approaches to create a holistic treatment plan that is tailored to each client’s needs.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is particularly effective in helping clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to anxiety, depression, and stress. This approach is practical and goal-oriented, focusing on helping clients develop healthier thinking patterns and coping strategies. Solution-Focused Therapy is another technique I use to help clients focus on the present and future, identifying concrete solutions to current problems and building on existing strengths. I also incorporate the Gottman Method in my couples therapy work, which is grounded in research-based techniques for improving communication, resolving conflicts, and enhancing emotional intimacy.

I have worked with clients from a variety of backgrounds and diverse life experiences. I pride myself on creating a safe and inclusive space for clients of all races, sexual orientations, and gender identities. I recognize that every client is unique, and my goal is to create a personalized therapy plan that reflects your values, goals, and lived experiences. I am committed to understanding and respecting the diversity of each individual I work with, as I believe that every person’s journey is shaped by their cultural, social, and personal context.

Another key aspect of my therapy practice is the importance of ongoing professional development. I am always seeking to expand my knowledge and skills to ensure that I am offering the best possible care to my clients. This includes attending workshops, reading the latest research in the field, and consulting with colleagues to stay informed about new treatment methods and trends in mental health and relationship therapy.

I believe that therapy should be a dynamic process that adapts to the client’s evolving needs. As you make progress, we may shift our focus, explore new challenges, and work toward new goals. I see therapy as a tool for continuous personal growth and development, helping clients become more self-aware, confident, and resilient. The skills you learn in therapy will continue to serve you long after the sessions end, as you apply them to new situations and challenges in your life.

In addition to my work with individuals and couples, I also offer supervision to other therapists. I find great joy in mentoring and supporting other professionals in the field, helping them develop their skills and navigate the challenges of working with clients. My goal as a supervisor is to provide guidance, encouragement, and feedback that helps new therapists build confidence and become effective, compassionate practitioners. I believe that the work we do as therapists is transformative, and I am honored to be part of the therapeutic journeys of both my clients and my supervisees.

Overall, my philosophy as a therapist is centered on creating a safe, collaborative, and empowering environment for clients to explore their challenges, develop new insights, and make lasting changes. I am committed to helping individuals and couples work through their difficulties, build healthier relationships, and improve their overall mental, emotional, and sexual well-being. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, relationship issues, sexual health concerns, or stress management, I am here to support you on your journey to healing and growth. My goal is to provide practical, evidence-based solutions that will help you create a fulfilling, balanced life.

Additional Comments: Therapy offers numerous benefits that can help improve your overall well-being, mental health, and relationships. One of the greatest aspects of therapy is the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of yourself. Through self-reflection and guided conversations, therapy provides a space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in a way that leads to greater self-awareness. Whether you're working through anxiety, depression, anger, or relationship challenges, therapy allows you to identify patterns that may be holding you back and discover new ways of thinking and behaving.

In my practice, I help you explore these areas through a collaborative approach, offering a supportive environment where we work together to find solutions. Whether you're facing stress, relationship issues, or sexual health concerns, I provide practical tools and techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, the Gottman Method, and Solution-Focused Therapy, to help you build healthier coping strategies and improve communication skills.

Another valuable aspect of therapy is the support it provides during tough times. Life can be overwhelming, and having a trained, compassionate therapist to guide you through difficult emotions, stressful situations, or major life transitions can make a significant difference. My practice is dedicated to offering ongoing support, helping you develop resilience and confidence to handle future challenges, and fostering growth, healing, and stronger emotional connections with yourself and others.
