Practice Description: |
Are you tired of struggling to understand your feelings and can't seem to manage them? Are you stuck in dysfunctional relationship patterns? Do you have hurts from the past that continue to impact your life now? These are some of the questions I have helped clients work on in my twenty plus years as a psychologist. I would like helping you with these and other issues. Here are some of the techniques I can use in therapy: cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) modified for individuals, family systems theory, solution-focused therapy and spirituality.
I have specialized training In trauma and childhood wounds. I utilize Hakomi and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy which are body-based mindfulness techniques that can help you work towards healing. This is ideal for clients who have already been in therapy and want to work on a deeper level. I am trained in EMDR which is a highly effective therapy that uses the brains organic capacity to heal traumatic wounds. I can combine Sensorimotor and EMDR if you struggle incorporating bilateral stimulation in your therapeutic experience. I also use the AIR Network which helps reduce dissociation, enabling you to be more present and gain more understanding of your inside life experience.
When you change your life there is a natural unfolding that takes place as you learn to trust and understand the meaning of what your mind, body and spirit are saying. I will guide you in this process. Together we can work toward your growing sense of peace and self-acceptance.
