Mónica López believes that every person has the ability to not only overcome obstacles and challenges, but also has the opportunity to thrive. Through counseling, she offers a safe and judgment-free space while providing a balance of support and guidance. She is passionate about joining clients in their journey towards growth and success.
Mónica is ready to meet you where you are. She provides tools and skills to help lead her clients towards change. She also encourages her clients to focus on continued advancement and healing. Mónica enjoys authentic and meaningful conversations with each and every one of her clients.
Mónica López is a Mental Health Counselor registered in the state of Colorado. She has earned a Master of Science Degree and a Master of Education Specialist Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Florida State University. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Clinical Psychology and completed a double major in Business Management from Florida State University as well. She is also a member of Chi Sigma Iota (CSI), an honor society that promotes excellence in the counseling profession. Mónica utilizes an array of techniques which include Cognitive–Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Person-Centered Therapy.
Mónica López has offered a variety of mental health services over the last several years to a diverse array of clientele. She started her career by engaging in volunteer work at 211 Big Bend, answering a hotline crisis phone line as well as the National Suicide Lifeline. She has also volunteered and engaged in research studies which were primarily focused on suicidal ideation. In addition, she has worked in the counseling center of Tallahassee Community College providing guidance and support to students. Mónica López is also a bilingual counselor, fluent in both English and Spanish.
