Psychotherapy offers you the opportunity to work toward feeling better about yourself and your relationships. In sessions you can discuss your concerns in a safe, caring, and supportive setting. I use an active approach to help you identify patterns of thoughts and behaviors that are not working and help you develop new patterns that can lead to reduced distress and improve your relationships.
Many people I work with come with eating disorders and body image concerns, depression, anxiety and relationship or marital issues. Others come to talk about parenting concerns, family issues or adjustment to life changes and stresses. My special interest is helping parents who are dealing with emerging adult children who have returned home or are not yet "launched."
In my practice I work with adolescents, young adults, and adults in individual, couples, and family therapy. My specialty areas include women's issues and helping adolescents and young adults develop a healthier sense of who they are.

I am not contracted with any insurance companies at this time. This means that your therapy notes are confidential and not accessible to your insurance company or other health care providers. Many people are not aware that when you use insurance benefits, your insurance company has the right to review your records. Also, when you (or your child) receive a psychiatric diagnosis, which is required to submit a claim, it becomes part of your medical record.
If you decide to use your insurance benefits I will help identify those benefits and provide information for you to submit the claim. |
